A few months ago, as I was scrolling through TikTok, I stumbled across carousel images of green pastures carved with subtle pathways and it immediately stopped me in my scrolling tracks. The images made me feel something and I needed to know more. One of the comments read: “These are called desire paths” — and thus my obsessive deep dive began. 

If you, like me, have never heard the term “desire path,” let me take you on a wild ride — I promise you’ll never see the world in quite the same way again (slightly dramatic I know, but it’s truly how I feel about them!). And once you’re aware of them, you won’t stop seeing them. They’re everywhere. Spot one and you’ll feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, and start walking on one, and dude, it’ll feel like a comforting hug from the universe.

So what the hell are desire paths?!
